U.G.L.Y. Author to be Featured Guest on CBS 5’s Bay Sunday
OAKLAND, CA (April 8, 2009) – Brandelyn N. Castine announced today that she will appear as a
guest on San Francisco’s CBS 5’s Bay Sunday. The show will air at 5:30 am on Sunday, April 12th.
“I’m overjoyed at the opportunity to appear on Bay Sunday,” says Castine. “People have been
extremely receptive to U.G.L.Y at my book readings and I hope that appearing on the show will allow
me to reach out to more book lovers and nonfiction readers in the Bay Area.”
CBS 5’s Bay Sunday is a program focused on lively conversation an eclectic mix of news, arts and
community information. In her first television appearance, Brandelyn will be interviewed by host, Sue
Kwon. Audiences will get an in-depth look at the writer behind U.G.L.Y and will finally be able to put
a face to the Bay Area’s best kept secret. All shows are archived on cbs5.com/baysunday. In

About Brandelyn N.Castine
Brandelyn N. Castine is the author of Everybody Plays the Fool, a novel; Spoken Silence: Life in Four
Parts, a volume of poetry; and U.G.L.Y., a novel and currently lives in the Bay Area. As a full time
writer with a bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley, Brandelyn is also a contributing author in the Gumbo
for the Soul Anthology, a project that was created to raise funds to support literacy programs in the Bay
